SAIX ADSL upgrades

Exiting News: All SAIX account will be migrated onto a faster international access backbone from 15 May 2009. Some basic comparisons between the current services and test results for the new infrastructure shows a latency decrease by 100ms to various international servers, and dramatic speed increases during office hours.

So overall, a much better experience for all SAIX users.

Users should not need to make any changes to account usernames or passwords, however the only change will be that users can no longer use smtp.saix.net.

We have implemented a new SMTP server to accommodate the migration, in order for a smooth change over, please let your clients know to change their SMTP servers from smtp.saix.net to smtp.dsl.co.za before 15 May 2009.

Outgoing Mail Server Details:

• smtp.dsl.co.za
• No authentication required

The migration will begin on 15 May 2009, and should be complete by 31 May 2009.
You users should not see any downtime over this migration.
